Sakhalin hucho is the only passage kind of huchos. It differs from the ordinary hucho by its large scales.
Sakhalin hucho is more than one meter length and weight 25-30 kg. In the sea its color is silvery, in the river it gets a reddish shade, like the ordinary hucho, and 5-8 crimson cross strips on its sides.
Sakhalin hucho inhabits in the Japanese sea. In spring and in summer it enters the rivers for spawning.
Feeds basically with fine fish.
