Naturalistic tours

Naturalistic tours will enable to get acquainted with a number of unique representatives of the Russian Far Eastern flora and fauna, to have a fascinating trip down the mountain river and to visit the places, not touched by a human being.

According to the botanic-geographical situation, the vegetation divides into the two zones - coniferous and coniferous-broad-leafed (mixed) forest zone.

The main characteristic of the coniferous forests zone is the domination of coniferous breeds, larch and spruce. The bogs and meadows are also widespread along the river valleys and plains between the mountains. There are well-developed thickets of the pinus pumila and mountain tundra at the tops of the mountains.

The southern border of the coniferous zone passes along the left side of the Amur river about 50 degrees of northern latitude, crosses the Amur river valley near the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, whence it abruptly turns on the south lengthways of the Sikhote-Aline mountain range. Here the larch and conifer-spruce forests are prevailing. The small areas are occupied by the Siberian and Korean spruce.

From the Komsomolsk-on-Amur and further upwards the Amur valley appear, gradually extending and enriching new breeds of coniferous-broad-leafed forests.

More than 2000 kinds of various plants are growing in the Far East taiga. There are 200 kinds of endemic ones among them, which are growing nowhere, except the Far East. The aralia family is especially rich. Its representatives are ginseng, echinopanax elatum, aralia, and eleutherococcus.

Grass and bush vegetation of Priamurie is also rich and magnificent. A person, wishing to spend a rest on nature, could be pleased by the sights of the most beautiful flowers, such as: orchids, yellow, orange and red liliums and hemerocallises, magnificent irises, gentle paeonias, various campanula and legendary lotuses, growing in some of the lakes.

The most of tour operators carry out natural tours by order.

Naturalistic tours are also including ornithological tours. In the Khabarovsk Krai inhabit 362 species of birds, 64 of them are brought into the Red book of Khabarovsk Krai. More than 10 spesies of birds are brought into the international red books. Through the territory pass migration ways of birds, which are nestling at polar coast, in Kamchatka, in Magadan area and in Chukotka. These birds hibernate in China, Japan, Australia, India and Africa. In the Krai there are unique places of birds rest during migration and also nestling places of some species of birds. In Khabarovsk Krai are kept some relict species of birds (since times before ice-age) and endemic birds of Russian Far East.
