The museum funds count more than 400 thousand storage units. In the expositions and exhibitions there are represented the exhibits devoted to paleonthology and geology of the Amur Region, to flora and fauna of the Far East, to the fishes of the Amur river basin, to the culture of the native peoples of the Amur Region and the Slavonic settlers, to the history of development of the Far East of Russia, to the events of revolution and Civil War in the Far East in 1917 - 1922 years. Aquariums with the live Amur fish are the decoration of expositions. For the smallest visitors in the Child Museum according to the principle “everything is allowed” the exposition “Peasant Homestead”, interactive playing area, and also convenient hall for conducting of self-dependent children's studies, master- classes are created.
The museum staff conducts pedestrian and bus urban excursions, out-of-town urban excursions, excursions and studies in the museum expositions. On preliminary requests excursion- show “Life and Customs of the pre-revolutionary Khabarovsk” and excursion- concert “The People of the Earth” are conducted.
Museum is accredited in the Ministry of Science and Technology of Russia as scientific institution. In 2000 museum became the winner of All-Russian competition “Window into Russia” in the nomination “Museum of Year”. |  |
